Is Your Online Presence Strong Enough?

The digital age has made it all too important to have a strong online content presence.

Now, before you say things such as, "We already have a website! or We don't have time to worry about social media," Let me be the first to tell you that your customers are waiting for your online-arrival!

Even though you have a website that details your business and it's services, this alone won't be enough to get you the results that you want.

Online Presence Self Assessment

Let's take a step back and put on our "customer-hat" for a moment and take a look at your content.

From a customer's point of view:

  • Is your website engaging?

  • Are you active on social media?

  • And is your content connecting you with customers?

Honesty is extremely important here.

If the answers to those questions are "no", it's time to do some reflection to reengage with your audience.

If your website isn't very good, how can you improve it? If you don't have a social media strategy in place, who can you trust to establish one for you?

Doing an honest assessment of where your company is with its online presence will go a long way toward knowing where your weak points are and how to correct them.

Brand Identity

When you think of large global brands, they have some phrase that you associate them with. Go ahead, close your eyes and think of a large company and the slogan they use in advertisements.

That's the power of branding, the personality of the company if you will.

Let's get back to you and your customers. They know the name of your business and what you do, but does the company have a personality?

There's a big difference between knowing what a business does and knowing its personality. Having an online presence lets your customers see the personality of the company, even if you only have 144 characters to do so.

One of the best ways to build a brand identity is to remind the customers that there are people on the other side, not robots.

Where to start

As a business owner, its hard to find the time to get your online presence set up. After all, you've got a lot on your plate.

If you truly want to take your online presence to the next level, establish a brand identity and reconnect with your customers, its time to assess your options.

If you have someone in-house to take care of it for you, great! Brainstorm together and come up with an online content strategy that will get you results.

If not it may be time to consider outsourcing it.
